Thank you Aunt Catie and Aunt Retta for helping to put together the perfect video for Mason's Fundraiser last night! It's so fun being reminded how sweet, kind, and how much fun we have with Mason. We can't wait to get our Mason back home!
Also- everyone that participated to make the fundraiser happen-- THANK YOU! Pictures to come...
Now- please grab some tissues and make time in your life to watch this video about 20 times.
We had a fantastic turn out at the carwash for Mason!
Many thanks to all those that came out to wash cars or to get their cars washed! It was a lot of FUN!
We love you Mason!!
Mason got a special video call today! He got to skype with one of his favorite bands-Imagine Dragons! He was in shock when he realized who he was actually talking to. He asked me how I managed that one. Thank you to those that helped out with this wish. And thank you to the band for taking time during their busy tour schedule to lift Mason's spirit. It made him so happy!
Mason started chemo and radiation last Thursday. He is experiencing some side effects of vomiting, body aches and fatigue but even with all that he still is pushing forward like a champ! 7 weeks after surgery and complete left side paralysis he is proving that nothing can stop him. Look at him walking!!
Just visited with our superhero Mason! We got an awesome email back from Marvel Entertainment saying that they are "rooting for mason." They want to send him a personalized drawing of iron man and asked for his picture as well. We love you Mason
We are at Md Anderson in Texas. The care here is great and his doctors are very experienced and specialized in Mason's diagnosis. Mason had another MRI last Friday and there is an area of concern close to where the original tumor was, his doctors think is new growth. This news has again brought a lot of tears and emotion. Mason is progressing so well with his body movement and doing so good otherwise. His Dad has worked with him so much on his therapy and I give him a lot of credit in Mason's advancements. There is such a special bond between them and it brings me to tears as I watch them together. Mason will start 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy this week. I hope and pray that he will have minimal side affects and he can continue to progress in his therapy and have much needed strength to get through this. As his mom that has gone through this same thing I would do anything to go through it for him but I know that is not the answer. I pray that God will have mercy on him and make him completely whole again. Mason has always been an amazing son and person but this challenge he is faced with has brought something so special to him. I have seen him meet this head on with so much positivity and strength. There is no doubt he is armed with strength and love from his Father in Heaven. Thank you for all the continued prayers.
Mason and I were having a heart to heart and he was asking me questions. Me: Nothing makes sense in our life right now. Mason: Mom your not seeing the big picture Me: what's the big picture Mason: me and you are strong, were stronger than a lot of people. We can do this!
One thing that makes sense to me is that Mason has so much love to give. He is my rock and keeps me going!
Mason was so excited to see his doggy "Recon." His sister and aunt snuck him in. Whatever brightens his day I will go to the ends of the earth to do for him!
Please pray that insurance will cooperate and get us to Md Anderson in Houston, TX. We are hopefully taking off by the beginning of next week if med vac gets approved. He will be getting the best treatment out there and full rehab therapy. Mason is ready for the next step, we've got a long ways to go but were are in this together!
We tried escaping, but it didn't work! Can't leave yet still waiting on insurance. We took him outside right before the dust storm started. Mason was so excited to get some fresh air after being in a hospital room for 27 days
